Deacon: John M
John was born in Southwark, South London and lived there for over 50 years. He became a Christian when he was 25, declaring his faith in the Lord Jesus in a small FIEC church in Peckham. John gained a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and went on to complete a theological studies couse at Spurgeons Bible College. He spent most of his Christian life as a member of the Baptist Church before moving to Somerset.
He is married to Gill and together they have a daughter, a son and eight grandchildren.
Deacon and Treasurer: John S
John spent his early life in Northern Ireland before coming to Lancaster to study. It was here that he became a Christian and also met his future wife Margaret. They have four adult children and six grandchildren so far!
John is a retired teacher. His interests include reading and supporting Sheffield Wednesday F.C. …the OWLS!
In retirement he regularly joins with believers from the Open Air Mission to share his faith on the streets across Somerset.
